Rice and Peas (Pelau - "Pay-laow")


Pelau is a savory one-pot Trinidadian favorite. Rice, fresh herbs, peas or beans and coconut milk are stewed together resulting in the most comforting of dishes. Usually served with a green salad or cole slaw and fried or boiled plantains.
